Day Scholars' Association
All students of this college are Day Scholars. They should feel that all belong to the U.N. Family and partake in the fountain of learning.
The Day Scholars Association, is as follows-
1. The name of the association shall be Upendranath College Day Scholars'Association, Soro.
2. The aims and objectives of the Association shall be :-
a) To organise social, Cultural and Academic gatherings.
b) To worship the presiding deities of learning, wisdom and fine arts.
c) To organise debates, meetings, lectures and competitions in fine arts.
3. a) All students of the +3 classes of the college are ipso- facto members of the Association.
b) All members of the staff are honorary members of the Association.
4. The Executive Committee of the Association shall consist of :- a) President (Principal, ex-officio)
b) Vice President and Associate Vice-Presidents(to be nominated by the Principal from among the members Of the staff).
c) Secretary: Any member of the Students' Union is eligible to contest for the post of Secretary.
d) Assistant Secretary:-Any member of the Students' Union is eligible to contest for the post of Asst. Secretary.
e) Executive Members:
i) One representative from each class of Arts, Commerce and Science counted separately.
ii) One representative from among the women students only. The election shall be held along with the Students' Union election by separate Secret ballot.
5. a) Election shall be held on such dates as per the Government notification.
b) Election shall be conducted and votes recorded and attested in such manner as the principal shall determine.
6. The Secretary shall be responsible for:-
a) Convening executive meeting.
b) Maintaining records
c) Organising activities under 2 above.
d) Maintaining accounts under the direct supervision of the vice-presidents.
7. The Assistant Secretary shall assist the Secretary in discharging his/her duties and shall assume all charges of the Secretary during his/her absence.
8. The funds of the association shall consist of-
i) Annual contribution from the students.
ii) Voluntary contribution from the members.
iii) The Principal shall be the administrator of the funds.
9. Before a function or a competition is organised, the details shall receive the approval of the Principal.
10. The Principal shall be the Final controller of the Association and may at his discretion alter, amend, supplement or abrogate any or all of these rules.
